1. What is JENOLITE Directorust BBQ & Stove Spray Paint used for?

This high-temperature spray paint is designed for surfaces exposed to extreme heat, such as BBQs, stoves, chimineas, fire surrounds, automotive exhausts, and other metal components. It provides a durable, heat-resistant, matt or metallic finish while offering corrosion protection.

2. What colours are available?

  • Matt Black: Smooth, heat-resistant matt finish.
  • Silver: Shiny metallic finish with heat and corrosion resistance.

3. Can it be applied directly to rust?

Yes. The Directorust formula contains anti-rust properties and can be applied directly to light rust, eliminating the need for a separate primer.

4. What surfaces can I use it on?

6. How do I prepare the surface?

  1. Ensure the surface is cool, clean, and free of grease or loose debris.
  2. Light rust can remain, but heavy rust or flaking paint should be removed with a wire brush or sandpaper.

7. How should I apply the spray paint?

  1. Shake the can thoroughly until the agitator ball rattles.
  2. Spray in smooth, even strokes from 15–30 cm away.
  3. Apply a thin, even coat, repeating 1–2 times for full coverage.

8. How long does it take to dry?

Allow sufficient time between coats (typically 10–15 minutes). Full drying and curing occur as per standard aerosol paint curing times, but the paint is heat-resistant once applied.

9. Can this be used outdoors?

Yes. The paint is weather, UV, and corrosion-resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

10. Is this suitable for DIY use?

Absolutely. The aerosol format and direct-to-rust application make it easy to use for DIY enthusiasts and professionals, providing a smooth and durable finish without special primers.

11. How should I store the paint?

  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
  • Invert the can and spray for 2 seconds after use to prevent nozzle blockages.

1. Apply directly to a cool surface
Shake the can well before use so that the agitator ball can be heard rattling. Spray in smooth strokes from 15-30cm away. Coat the surface with a thin and even layer.

2. Allow time to dry between coats
Repeat the process 1-2 times to ensure that the whole surface has been covered. This product not only has fantastic heat resistant properties, but it also provides great rust protection and is highly durable to corrosion.

3. Storage & Reuse
To prevent blockages, invert the can after use and spray for 2 seconds. This aerosol should be stored out of direct sunlight, in a cool well ventilated place. Consult Safety Data Sheet for more information.
