2. How does it work?

The formula chemically reacts with rust, breaking it down and lifting it from the metal surface. Rust turns dark grey during treatment, and once removed, the metal is restored to a clean, bare state.

3. Can it remove rust from tight or recessed areas?

Yes. The free-flowing liquid can be applied by spray, brush, or immersion, making it perfect for small, recessed, tubular, or irregular surfaces where rust tends to accumulate.

2. Apply product: Pour or brush liberally onto rusty areas. For small parts, immersion in a plastic container is possible.
   
3. Keep active: Rework with a brush every 5 minutes, adding more product if necessary. Vertical surfaces may require extra attention.
   
4. Remove residue: When rust turns dark grey, wipe with a clean, lint-free cloth. Brush away residue with steel wool if required.
   
5. Prime or paint: Wait 30 minutes, then apply primer or topcoat for best results.
   

7. Do I need to rinse the surface after use?

No rinsing is required. Simply wipe dry after treatment and allow the surface to stand for 30 minutes before priming or painting.

8. How long should I wait before priming or painting?

After wiping the treated metal dry, wait 30 minutes. For best results, prime or paint the same day.

9. Can I reuse leftover liquid?

No. Do not return used or contaminated liquid to the container, as this may reduce effectiveness and compromise the product.

10. What coverage can I expect?

Coverage is approximately 8 square metres per litre, depending on rust severity and surface texture.

11. Is it suitable for vertical or overhead surfaces?

Yes, but vertical surfaces require more attention. Keep the product active by brushing frequently to prevent it from drying out.

Remove all traces of oil or grease. Remove old paint and loose rust with steel wool or wire brush. Always check product compatibility. If in doubt test a small area first.

1. Apply directly to rust or immerse small parts

Pour required amount into plastic container. Brush liberally, directly onto rusty areas only. Keep Jenolite active by working in with the brush every 5 minutes and adding more if required. Do not allow the surface to dry out or become tacky. Vertical surfaces may require the most attention. Continue this process until all visible rust has turned dark grey in colour, at which point, wipe the surface dry with a clean, lint-free cloth. To ensure all rust has been successfully removed, brush away the dark grey residue with a wire brush/steel wool (if rust is still present thereafter, repeat the process as above until all rust has been removed).

2. Wait 15 minutes, apply & wipe dry

Small components can be immersed in a plastic container. Leave until the rust has been removed, drain excess liquid for one minute. Wipe dry immediately with a clean lint-free cloth.

3. Ready to prime in 30 minutes

After wiping dry, wait for 30 minutes, then apply Jenolite Primer or topcoat. For best results, prime same day.

Do not return excess Jenolite Rust Remover to the container.

Wash brushes and equipment in clean water immediately after use. Splashes onto surrounding paintwork and skin may cause staining - wash off immediately with water.
