1. What is JENOLITE Stop Leak Sealer?

JENOLITE Stop Leak Sealer is a highly flexible, hardwearing, waterproof sealant designed to fill, seal, and stop leaks on a wide variety of surfaces, including gutters, flat roofs, and other building structures. It instantly creates a long-lasting water-resistant layer to prevent water ingress.

Note: Not recommended for bird baths, ponds, central heating systems, or pressurised plumbing systems.

4. How do I prepare the surface?

  1. Remove oil, grease, loose paint, rust, and organic growth.
  2. Use a scraper, steel wool, wire brush, or fungicidal wash as needed.
  3. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and cool before application.


5. How do I apply the sealer?

  1. Stir the tin well to achieve a smooth, uniform mix.
  2. Apply thin coats using a brush or roller, leaving 5–10 minutes between coats.
  3. Allow at least 4 hours for initial drying; full cure and hardness are achieved after 12 hours.
  4. Coverage: Approximately 10 m² per litre (depending on surface texture and number of coats).


6. Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. The sealer is weather-resistant and UV-stable, suitable for all roof types and exposed surfaces.

7. How long does it take to cure?

  • Initial drying: 4 hours
  • Full cure/hardness: 12 hours


8. How should I store the sealer?

  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.
  • Keep the container tightly sealed when not in use.
  • Consult the Safety Data Sheet for additional storage guidance.


9. What common mistakes should I avoid?

  • Applying on wet or greasy surfaces — always clean first.
  • Using thick coats — multiple thin layers ensure proper curing and durability.
  • Ignoring recommended drying and curing times.
  • Using on pressurised plumbing, ponds, or bird baths — the product is not designed for these applications.

Remove all traces of oil or grease. Remove old paint and loose rust with steel wool or wire brush. Remove any organic growth with a fungicidal wash as may be necessary. Loose or blistered paint
should be removed from a surface either mechanically with a scraper or with a paint stripper.

1. Apply directly to a cool surface
Stir well before use, so that a smooth, uniform mix is obtained. Brush or roll on in smooth strokes.

2. Allow to dry
Allow at least 4 hours before use, full cure/hardness is obtained after 12 hours.

3. Storage & Reuse
