Firstly, what is rust?
Rust usually sets in on steel when its protective coating starts to break down as a result of oxygen and moisture reacting towards one another. This then goes on to attack the metal surface, resulting in rust.

Step 1: Remove existing paint
If a surface has already been painted and rust has set in over it, the first thing you need to do is remove the old paint from the metal structure in order to repair the damaging corrosion. You might want to try our industrial strength paint remover spray. Once the paint has been removed, you can get on with the rust removal.
Step 2: Paint over the rust
Life can get in the way of working on odd jobs (we’ve all been there) so if you’re looking to get the job done fast, Jenolite’s Directorust range will be your best friend.
